School

After coming to San José State University, I thought I had come to a place where people don’t hate others without reason. Growing up in the bay area, I have experience many situations in my life similar to this, but I would not have expected it to be here. As I was walking to 7-11, two white guys in basketball jerseys walked towards me.  One of them walks up to my face and yells “Asian invasion” and tries to spit on me. When he tries to spit on me, I step back. His friend tells him to stop because the police are nearby and they walk away. A police SUV was on the corner watching us, but did nothing.

I know many of my friends back at home would have punched the guy out or talked back.

What would you have done/ reacted? What do you think?

I’m really sorry that happened to you, Sherman :( If I were in your situation, I would probably just stand there or not move or something. I’m really sorry Sherman. :( Are you alright?

nothing new. hes prolly from a predominately white town. you know just as well as i do, everywhere there is something like this regardless whether its towards asians, blacks or whatever race it is. he did something and was bout to do something racist, don’t let it get to you. best you did was nothing. haters hate so you will respond, when you don’t, they stop and pick on something or someone else.
